This is generally a brief phone conversation with your therapist to discuss your presenting symptoms as well as to determine compatibility. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have!

Most post secondary students have coverage through their academic institution. If you are insured, you will be billed at the regular individual rates of $150/hr. For students without coverage, we can offer this reduced rate of $100/hr.

Booking Policies

For therapy to be effective, you and the therapist need to have a certain degree of compatibility. That's why we offer a free initial consultation for you to see if we are the right fit for your needs. Our initial consultation and subsequent services are fully confidential within the limits of the law. Confidentiality and limits to confidentiality can be discussed and explained at any point, if you need any clarifications.

Payment of Fees:
Appointments are made on a fee-for-service basis. All bookings are made online and must be paid for prior to the beginning of your session.

If you have extended health coverage, we might be able to directly bill your insurance provider. By doing this, you have to pay nothing/minimum out of pocket for what is covered by your insurance. In the event that we are unable to directly bill your insurance provider, we will gladly provide you with an itemized receipt so you can get reimbursed by your insurance provider.

If your plan has deductibles, and only partially covers our sessions, you will be required to pay the difference out of pocket. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to get specific details about your coverage and rates prior to making an appointment. We are unable to refund payments or waive our fees in the event that your provider does not cover our services.

For individuals who do not have any extended health coverage and require sliding scale options, please contact us prior to booking to see if we can adjust our rates to help with your finances.

We accept most major credit cards, debit cards, cash, and e-transfer of funds. We encourage paying for the sessions when making the appointments on our booking page.

Cancellations and Missed Sessions:
We understand that things come up and appointments may need to be rescheduled for a later date. We ask that you inform us ASAP if you anticipate missing a booking. Ideally, we would prefer a 48 hours notice for cancellations but we absolutely need a 24 hour notice. If a 24 hours notice is not provided, you will be billed at the full rate.
